Introduction
The experienced System engineer will join our dynamic team. The Engineer is a key contributor to design, implement, and manage our VMware virtualization landscape. Our VMware landscape hosts many application to support our industrial activity spread over 25 locations mainly in EMEA & APAC. The System Engineer will play a critical role in ensuring the stability, security, and scalability of our virtualized environment and provide expertise to other IT staff. The job also includes resolution of incidents in a timely and accurate way.
Your Tasks:
- Design, implement, and manage the VMware vSphere infrastructure including ESXi hosts, vCenter Server, and virtual networking components.
- Architect and deploy member servers to meet business requirements while ensuring high availability, performance, and scalability.
- Perform capacity planning, resource optimization, and performance tuning for VMware environments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate VMware solutions with other infrastructure components such as storage, networking, and backup systems.
- Monitor VMware infrastructure health, troubleshoot issues, and perform root cause analysis.
- Implement and maintain VMware disaster recovery solutions
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other IT colleagues in the different locations
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to VMware virtualization.
Your Profile
- Master/Bachelor degree in Information Technology or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in designing, implementing, and managing VMware vSphere environments.
- Strong knowledge of virtualization concepts, VMware architecture, and best practices.
- In depth expertise in VMware technologies including ESXi, vCenter Server.
- VMware Certified Professional (VCP) certification is appreciated
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex VMware issues.
- Ability to work well autonomously and within a multi-functional team
- Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization
- Self-motivated with attention for deadlines
- Verbal and written communication skills in English and Dutch. Any other language is an asset.
